On the afternoon of 8 November, a symposium on pairing support exchange between the College and Tarim University's School of Humanities was convened at Zhejiang University's Zijin Campus. The symposium facilitated in-depth discussions across multiple domains including talent cultivation, discipline development, faculty advancement, and research collaboration, jointly exploring innovative pathways for pairing support and collaborative development between eastern and western universities. The meeting was chaired by Vice Dean Zhao Yupei.

At the meeting, both parties introduced their respective institutions' development trajectories, disciplinary strengths, and future plans. Zhao Yupe expressed hope that through this targeted support collaboration, the School of Humanities at Tarim University would join hands with Zhejiang University to achieve an organic integration of resources and strengths in talent cultivation, joint curriculum development, and research cooperation, thereby advancing towards deeper integration and mutual development.
Xiao Tao, Dean of the School of Humanities at Tarim University, noted that as a key higher education institution in Xinjiang, Tarim University bears the important mission of serving regional development and promoting cultural dissemination. She expressed hope that Zhejiang University's School of Media and International Culture would collaborate with Tarim University to advance the deep integration of journalism education in western China with regional social development through joint efforts in programme development, faculty enhancement, and laboratory construction.
During the exchange session, both parties reached multiple consensus points for future collaboration. Regarding talent cultivation, they plan to promote student exchanges and shared curricula while exploring joint postgraduate training and internship-academic partnerships. Regarding faculty development, teaching and research capabilities will be enhanced through joint training programmes, collaborative course design, and research mentorship. In disciplinary development, both institutions will jointly optimise subject offerings and curriculum frameworks to foster interdisciplinary integration.
Furthermore, both parties expressed intent to collaborate on student management and youth organisation activities. Plans include jointly organising ‘Three Rural Areas’ social practice initiatives, revolutionary cultural study tours, and Party-building cooperation programmes. These efforts will leverage Tarim University's rich revolutionary cultural resources to broaden educational pathways and invigorate organisational dynamism.

This symposium clarified the direction of cooperation and the implementation mechanism. Moving forward, the international cooperation and exchange offices of both institutions will take the lead in refining the cooperation agreement and driving the implementation of all initiatives. During the exchange, representatives from both universities extended warm regards to student delegates participating in the exchange programme, commending their active involvement in collaborative projects. They encouraged the students to cherish this opportunity, apply their learning effectively, and continue to grow through cross-institutional study and practical experience.
